Columbus, Ohio

Columbus is the capital of and the largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio. The broader metropolitan area encompasses several counties and is the third largest in Ohio behind those of Cleveland and Cincinnati. Columbus is the fifteenth largest city in the United States of America.[citation needed] It is the county seat of Franklin County, HP Pavilion dv7-1220ef Battery [22] yet the city has expanded and annexed portions of adjoining Delaware County and Fairfield County. In the 1740s Pennsylvania traders had overrun the territory until the French forcibly evicted them.[37] In the early 1750s George Washington was sent to the Ohio Country by the Ohio company to survey, and the fight for control of the territory would spark Europe's Seven Year's War with the French and Indian War. During this period the country was routinely engaged in turmoil, with massacres and battles occurring. The arches illuminated the thoroughfare and eventually became the means by which electric power was provided to the new streetcars.
