Democratic Agenda In a Freefall--Here's Where We Are

During these past two weeks we have seen more tumult surrounding the White House and the Senate than at any other time during the current Administration. Despite the Media's seeming efforts to put a smiling face on virtually everything associated with the Democratic Agenda (Sony Vaio VGN-FZ battery).

The President's poll numbers have crashed to the point of being the lowest in history for any Presidency in its first year. Meanwhile the Democrats are hearing rumblings all over the nation with regard to current poll numbers reflecting heavy election gains by their polar opposites in the upcoming elections (Sony VGP-BPS8 battery).

Congressional and Senatorial Democrats are also seeing their job approval numbers plummet. The Democrat's carrot-on-top would seem to be the most recent unemployment numbers taking an "unexplained hit" despite this being the Christmas season, which normally requires an increase in hiring in order to service a seasonal increase in retail sector sales (Sony VGP-BPL9 battery).

The Senate is currently in tumult regarding the Liberal Democrats' efforts to squash the current healthcare bill due to a deletion of the public option. Howard Dean has been on his own campaign, in essence, lambasting the President to the point of even saying he would not "vigorously" campaign for him--just for starters (Sony VGN-FZ460E battery).

The spat between Dean and the White House most likely promises to become even more intense, while over in the House there is a large bevy of Democrats becoming more and more displeased with the current legislative path. Many of these Liberal House Democrats seem to also be mounting a campaign to outright pull the bill (Sony VGP-BPS9 battery).

Meanwhile, Bill Clinton, weighing in, released an eye-rolling statement that "everyone should all come together," while Monica Lewinsky claims that Clinton "may not have told the truth" during his grand jury investigation (Toshiba PA3535U-1BRS battery).

Senator Mitch McConnell has stated that the President is insisting on voting for a heavily revised bill, which no one has seen, before Christmas. Also, the members of the Senate were treated to an off the cuff change in historical procedure that has stood for over 230 years when the Senate Democrats disallowed a reading of Senator Bernie Sanders 700 page ammendment to the bill by a dissenting Republican who insisted that the amendment be read (Toshiba PA3534U-1BRS battery).

Senate procedures require that the Senate must be in unison in order to block any reading of an ammendment, and, therefore, the normal rules that have been in place for the Senate were thrown out by the Democrats in a rare if ever seen historical display of jurisdential disregard (Toshiba PA3399U-2BRS battery).

Meantime, in Copenhagen, the Summit is now contending with a heavy blizzard that could not have come at a more importune time. Copenhagen, which is located within a maritime region, rarely if ever sees snow and has not seen any noteworthy snow for 14 years. Hugo Chavez brought down the house in thunderous applause when he strongly denounced Capitalism during a rambling speech that proved more popular than any other, apparently, at Copenhagen (Toshiba PA3399U-1BRS battery).

All of this, while the revealing IPCC research emails, which indicate concealment as well as purposeful data errors, are strongly on everyone's mind. Al Gore who seems to be the longtime "figurehead" of the Global Warming Movement has seen his credibility suffer one hit after another over recent "mis-statements" by him with regard to a number of scientific impracticalities (Toshiba PA3285U-1BRS battery).

In addition, the Global Warming Summit has suffered one extreme upset after another, from the damning emails to the secret memo that was leaked which described that only the top-most wealthiest countries would have final say on all decisions. Many are hoping that the appearance of Obama might smooth down the entire Summit process and produce some gain--this despite Obama's presence around the Capital seeming only to upset those around him rather than providing a calming influence (Toshiba PA3465U-1BRS battery) .

The President has offered dire predictions if we do not adopt the healthcare bill that he wants to the point of indicating that the nation could become bankrupt if reform did not pass; however, the President has not explained how this could possibly be, since the proposed legislation is centered on more spending by the government rather than less (Toshiba PA3450U-1BRS battery).

Next week promises to be even more interesting as the Legislators scurry to their intent of passing some form of a healthcare bill prior to Christmas recess while Obama will be concluding his Copenhagen, which is intended, in part, to offer support for his upcoming Cap and Trade legislation endeavors (Toshiba PA3285U-1BRS battery ).
